Wrapped Bushings

Wrapped bushings are sliding bearings typically formed by wrapping a layer of bearing material around a metal or other rigid core. Mainly crafted from materials like PTFE or specialized composites, they inherit excellent properties from these substances. They boast impressive wear and friction resistance, allowing for smooth and long – lasting operation. Many wrapped bushings also exhibit good corrosion resistance and can function effectively across a range of temperatures.

There are several types of wrapped bushings. Self – lubricating wrapped bushings require minimal external lubrication, reducing maintenance efforts. Chemically resistant wrapped bushings are well – suited for use in harsh chemical environments, protecting against degradation. Reinforced wrapped bushings, often enhanced with fibers or fillers, can bear heavy loads and withstand significant pressure and impacts. These bushings are widely used in automotive, machinery, and aerospace industries, installed in key components to reduce wear, enhance efficiency, and handle diverse operational conditions. They offer a long service life, low maintenance costs, and high reliability. Many manufacturers also provide custom – made wrapped bushings to meet specific customer requirements.
